It seems as though Robert F. Kennedy Jr. does not actually want to win the 2024 election, this after he chose a criminal justice reform advocate by the name of Nicole Shanahan to be his vice president.
Shanahan has donated thousands of dollars to the campaign of Joe Biden and other Democrats, and she has also been recognized for her endorsement of leftist-aligned “criminal justice” initiatives.
A 2021 issue of San Francisco Magazine lauded Shanahan for her noteworthy contribution to Los Angeles County’s Measure J, which amended “the County charter, requiring at least 10% of locally generated, unrestricted revenue (to) be reinvested into community development and alternatives to incarceration.”
Measure J also, by the way, prohibits “using funds for carceral systems and law enforcement agencies.”
San Francisco Magazine‘s profile of Shanahan also mentions Black Lives Matter (BLM), stressing that Shanahan was involved in similar such things “long before the Black Lives Matter movement.”
“Another important area of investment – criminal justice reform – is one that Shanahan has been devoted to for years,” the article explains.
“I’m happy that I could be a major donor for Measure J in Los Angeles County, which was voted in and will be rerouting some of the law enforcement budget toward mental and social support services,” Shanahan herself is also quoted as saying in the piece.

According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) data, Shanahan contributed a whopping $30,000 to Joe Biden’s 2020 election campaign – you know, the one in which he “won” over Donald Trump under suspicious circumstances.
Shanahan has also contributed to the Democrat fundraising platform ActBlue, as well as to the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Perhaps Kennedy is trying to give the election to Trump with this pick, seeing as how recent polls suggest that the Kennedy campaign is far more beneficial to Trump’s campaign than to Biden’s.
In several key swing states with Kennedy included in the race, Trump is said to be leading, according to a recent Morning Consult survey. The Biden campaign, meanwhile, is said to be “panicking” over Kennedy’s participation in the 2024 presidential race.
The Associated Press (AP) seems to be thrilled with Kennedy’s choice of Shanahan as his VP, calling her a “philanthropist” who “is little known outside Silicon Valley.”
The current leader of the Bia-Echo Foundation, Shanahan is profiled by the AP as someone who cares about “women’s reproductive science,” meaning abortion, as well as criminal justice reform and environmental causes, the latter of which is Kennedy’s forte.
Shanahan is also a Stanford University fellow who founded and served as chief executive of ClearAccessIP, a patent management firm that was sold in 2020.
Shanahan says she had a tough upbringing in Oakland with a mother who immigrated from China and a father of Irish and German origins who was “plagued by substance abuse” and “struggled to keep a job.”
Though she is “very wealthy” now – her own words – Shanahan grew up on government assistance, which she says helps her feel as though she can relate to other Americans who are “just one misfortune away from disaster.”
“The purpose of wealth is to help those in need,” Shanahan said. “That’s what it’s for. And I want to bring that back to politics, too. That is the purpose of privilege.”
Shanahan is also a vaccine skeptic who suffers from “chronic disease,” which she links to “toxic substances in our environment,” “electromagnetic pollution” from things like cellphones and childhood vaccines.
